Tea partiers beware: "You can and will be banned for being a liberal."

Organizers behind the upcoming Tea Party Nation convention we wrote about this morning told members today that MSNBC's Rachel Maddow tried to join the group and "we banned her 7 minutes after she joined."

TPMDC, which also has signed up for the TPN mailing list, received an email to all members warning them that as the convention nears "we will in all likelihood be invaded by liberal trolls looking to disrupt the site." The subject line was "Liberal Troll Alert!"

"Tea Party Nation reserves the right to ban anyone for any reason we feel necessary to ensure the well being of the site and our members," the group writes in the email, which you can read in full after the jump and view here.

I thought tea partiers where against higher taxes and for smaller government and welcomed all to their party. Sounds like they have taken a turn to just a bunch of conservative liberal haters.

Aren't these the hypocrites who wear guns to public rallies because it's THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT?

"Bring your guns but shut the @!$%# up if you happen to disagree with us!"

Sort of like what they do in places where the TERRORISTS call the SHOTS.

The Tea Party does welcome all to their party that have the same Conservative ideals of our forefathers that built America into the greatest country in the world.

WTF are you talking about? Conservatives want to conserve the status quo. Our Founding Fathers wanted to do something that nobody had done before, ie, create our own syle of government.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Those who would wipe their feet on our Constitution

You mean Republicans?

Just_Another_Sheep: Why the he!! would the "Conservative" Tea Party want Liberals like Maddow in their organization.

Because the founding fathers were liberals like Maddow? Aren't you guys all convinced you admire the founding fathers?

The Tea Party does welcome all to their party that have the same Conservative ideals of our forefathers that built America into the greatest country in the world.

You've really got to get rid of this idea that the people who built this country were conservative. They were anything but. They were a bunch of rebellious, wild-eyed radical liberals. The conservatives were the ones who wanted to stay on good terms with the King. The conservatives were the ones who were scared to death of upsetting the rich and powerful -- the liberals were the ones who refused to be afraid of the rich and the powerful. This is probably the most embarrassing mistake you people make -- and that's saying something.

One of your propaganda masters' greatest coups has been the way they managed to brainwash you into believing that "liberal" is a bad word. It's really a shame too. You're missing out on a lot of really great people -- people who might actually make your group stronger, as opposed to more useless because you don't allow anyone into the club who might challenge you.

Listen, it's fine if you want to put up a sign that says "no liberals allowed." Just stop pretending you're a grass roots organization. When you start keeping people out because of some political label you don't like, you're the opposite of grass roots -- you're an exclusive little club afraid of anyone who might challenge you. And it's certainly your right to have just such an exclusive little club. Just don't insult everybody's intelligence by pretending it's some kind of a grass roots movement. Because "exclusivity" and "grass roots" are sort of opposites.

Stop the ignorance.

Just_Another_Sheep, you're about 50-100 years to late for that rhetoric.

You and your like go on about all these so called "liberal" ideas and "big government" solutions to ailments but you yourself live in a system that isn't going to abolish "things long established!"

In case you haven't noticed big government has a hand in just about every part of our lives and it's for the better. Do you plan on going back to riding horses and growing your own food? You too enjoy all the pretenses of modern life so get off your high horse!

The TPM isn't going anywhere, they derive their base from the malcontent Republican fringe. You need to take a class in Political Science to learn a thing or two about political parties and how they grow and prosper. Simply sitting back and expressing your displeasure with the way things are isn't doing a damn thing! I encourage your efforts though, form a party and try to run candidates for office. Try to appeal to the masses without some form of liberal pandering. But remember, Obama was put in office by a majority of Democrats and Independents, mostly Democrats though. So if you think you can ostracize liberals you are sorely mistaken.

In case you haven't noticed, Conservatism is dead!

"How about those who are ok with Big Government interfering in a woman's right to chose and telling couples of matching gender that they cannot marry?"

That's why Liberals cannot join!

Um, Liberals want to let people do what they want in those respects, and not interfere. You consevatives want to interfere, which is against what you say about big government. At least Liberals aren't hypocrites.

Big Government is not the answer to any of these things.

Like I said...

Read up on the Constitution - I know its foreign to Liberals.

If that's true, it's even more foreign to Republicans.

Any power that the Constitution does not specifically give the Federal Government, and is not specifically prohibited for the "STATE" to have, is a power that's given to the "STATE and ITS PEOPLE"

That's not a Democracy, and if a Democracy is not what you want, then move yourself to Europe and leave this one alone.

America isn't a Democracy, genius. It's a Republic.

No sheep, since they have the majority, they are not interfering, they are controlling the country's agenda! The GOP is the party that is interfering now. The GOP needs to find a way to bury their reputation as the 'Party of NO,' and you're not helping the issue.

Not that I like or condone Pelosi in ANY way. She's a shrill shrew that needs to be replaced, desperately. But you pretend the Dems are out to destroy the country, when the opposite is in fact true. They do intend to take the country in a different direction. One they think will be BETTER than where it is now, but they aren't destroying it. If Bush couldn't, the Dems certainly can't.

Perpetuating such hyperbole doesn't do anything but reveal your partisan credentials, and immediately turn anyone with an open mind, off.

No, Obama and the Dems aren't perfect, but they're not al Qaeda either. Pretending they are does yourself a disservice.

I frankly remember when this party was coming out and showing it's grassroots in interview after interview of the protests someone was always so excited to say how the people there were conservatives and independents and liberals. We're all here, they would say, for the same thing, and everyone is welcome. I knew that was a bunch of lies when I heard it and it's nice that their true colors, that to be in the party you must be lockstep with the party, is coming out.

Its not the job of our Federal Government to decide on abortion or gay marrage. It's the job of the "STATE" and its "VOTING" Citizens

What the hell is the difference between the federal government making a law and the state government making the same law. As far as I am concerned, people who try to make this distinction are simply annoyed at what the federal government is doing right now. I'm willing to bet that if your state legislature were doing the same thing you would be up in arms that they were the ones encroaching on your freedoms. In this country we vote in congressmen and senators to make our laws for us. I don't know which country you are hoping to go live in where every law is put up to a popular vote.

    My questions Are

1, would the founding fathers like America as it is today?

2, did the founding fathers exclude minorities and woman from its original constitution?

3, if there were never amendments to the Constitution, wouldn't that make the USA as backwards as these extremist Islamic groups?

finally 4,if the USA did not alter its Constitutional rights for all citizens, what example and motivation would this have set for the rest of the world?

I have noticed that those who are real Progressive or Liberal tend to only seek out those voices they agree with and tune the others out, except to parrot what someone has said that is negative against anyone on the Conservative side. I find, are very closed minded and very uneducated as to the facts of why others believe what they believe. I find most, not all, but most of those on the Conservative side, know a lot about the liberals and progressives positions, but they do not know much about the facts and reasons of where conservatives are coming from. I think it is because Conservatives build on a rock, while the Progressive/liberal crowds build on shifting sands. The future will tell - no matter what is said today.

SD, Dr. Maddow trying to participate in a teabagger listserv made absolutely no sense to me. I mean there is no point in wasting time debating teabaggers on one of their sites when you have the megaphone of your own cable news program. The only value of being able to access a teabagger site is to gather any information useful for ridiculing them on television, but that's what production staff is for.

Sure hope there isn't another Rachel Maddow out there, that's been kicked out of this elitist group!

I saw this last night and couldn't stop laughing - Keep banning Rachel Maddow from something she would never participate in - It just gives Rachel even more credibilty and fame.

It's funny - they call Rachel names yet can't come up with anything to try and discredit her. This is just too hillarious for words.

I checked out how many people voted up what you said compared to the votes of those comments above you. According to your own argument does that mean that what you are typing is irrelevent? I personally don't see it as that way, everyone should have a voice and most everyone is relevent. I also don't see anyone here not letting people join and comment just because they aren't liberal. Personally I prefer the logical rantings of Maddow and the left to the alternative "ratings" patrol of FNC.

The tone of their email is quite to the contrary. They vilify liberals and show their immatruity by calling them trolls. Then they wonder why people don't take them seriously other than Fox and conservitive bloggers (which i'm still trying to figure out if there is a differnce between the two). Its because you are a bunch of clowns. Go ahead and put on your red noses (and gun holsters appearntly) and have your convention. Because the rest of us really dont give a C^@p.

Some have moved way from it due to the more 'wacky' things they (TBN) are doing. There are also some people (who happend to run things) that are a lil off their rocker and deserve what they get. 2. I'm pretty sure that Teabaggers was the name they gave themselves.

May be they did or may be they did not, but Teabagger is a derogatory term that has to do with a sexual position. I would doubt they would name themselves such a thing, but I do not know either,

In the beginning tea partiers used the term, apparently unaware of its less savory meaning (example: "tea bag the liberal dems before they tea bag you"). What seemed clever at the time is now an embarrassment, but it looks like they're stuck with it.

Actually ZeroX, a teabagger is not necessarily a derogatory term. If it's used in relation to a lady you are dating, then it is a compliment, and you are a lucky man.

Used for those who feign outrage, and pretend to have commonalities with those who participated in the Boston Tea Party, it is definitely derogatory.

I don't know who made it up, but it is incredibly apt in either instance.

And this is one 'godless liberal' who giggles his tail off every time I hear it. They picked the dumb name, now they haveto live with it.

Members of the tea party in protest sent tea bags to members of congress and and Obama, hence the creation of the name teabagger.

That got the moniker from what they did.

Rather simple all things considered, but the bottom line is, they brought it on themselves. Brought it on themselves and it stuck. They should have thought of the visual interpretation of the action.

Tea bags, teabagger, doesn't get simpler.

The concept of the Tea Parties was rather attractive; it offered a forum for the many who feel disconnected from their own government today and who believe they are not being represented by their elected officials; it offered a venue for people from all points on the political spectrum to gather and voice concerns and express opposition to political decisions being made

Regretfully, after reading this article, I am rather disenchanted; it appears that the Tea Party Movement is becoming extremely political and polarizing; it appears to be morphing into that which it was formed to oppose. Exclusion, representation of special interests, elitism, barring opinions contrary to its own, intolerance, boorish behavior such as sanctions and restriction of beliefs; isn’t this what Tea Partiers stood steadfast against?

"Tea Party Nation reserves the right to ban anyone for any reason we feel necessary to ensure the well being of the site and our members, ..."

Sounds as if the Tea Party Nation needs another Tea Party Movement to counter it; Tea Party Nation assimilated itself into the dark side of politics rather quickly; slipped under that rock as fast as it could slither. In fact, they seem to be following the same basic precepts and tactics adopted by Obama and his “nation”.

I just tried to learn a little more. It strikes me as odd that you can access none of the links to articles on the Tea Party website without signing up and giving them your information first. Some of these are links to articles from other publications but I'm the kind of person who likes to go to the source, read for myself, and make up my own mind. It seems they don't want to share their ideas or information with "just anyone". Rather speaks to me of subversive or even illegal activity--an organization of exclusion. Very uncomfortable, to say the least.

MizJones, I posted somewhere around here that I registered on Faux Noise awhile ago. After posting a dissenting comment on a section devoted to Greta What's-Her-Lie, imagine my surprise when my access has since been denied. Every attempt. Ergo, I never did get to see the feedback from my comment. If I didn't know better, I'd have thought it was Pravda except jack-booted men didn't bang on my door in the middle of the night. Not at this point, anyway.

Anyway, whether or not Maddow actually attempted to gain access is mute.

However, the fact that article was made in some attempt to smear "Tea partiers" shows me that you liberals have no intelligible substantive argument. This should not distort us from the truth that our liberal government (drunk with power) is spending as if they are drunken sailors.

Republicans are nearly as horrid in the last ten years with spending too though. Which is why we really need a third party in this country. The right sucks, and the left sucks even worse!

This also seems to be the reason why both the right and the left continually smear Palin. Palin is a threat to both parties "business as usual standards".

Dave, as a PSA and a plea, don't push it. These people can not be trusted. I can also say that to Jonesgirl, playing around in their field of corn may get you burned.

There is a one time, one hit newsvine member that posted on one of my very first posts at newsvine. This man had been following me for at least a year, when Bush was in office the one thing I accused him of being was an agent of the state. I think I mentioned it here on this thread or elsewhere, I can not find it. But it bears repeating.

He has used proxy servers, has used services to find out where I live. He has used aliases and names of people that I have known and made lurid comments on a blog I used to have ( used to because of him ), etc.

He uses aliases and proxie servers to protect HIS identity. But the worst thing he did was send a postcard to my home. I wouldn't want this type of thing to happen to anybody else.

They have attempted in the past to portray themselves in the media as concerned citizens. When they are just angry conservatives because the Democrats (liberals) are in charge now.

The liberals consider themselves as being non-racist, but their belief is that every person in a minority group is somehow disadvantaged, and therefore needs assistance of some sort-preferably from the Government. In other words, their most cherished belief is that it is up to government -the rich, privileged and powerful elite, usually white and male, needs to take care of the poor, ignorant, minority who can't possibly take care of themselves

Those with the bumper-sticker "educations" are the ones in "need of assistance."

There is no way legally to kick out every Democrat in the senate (the whole one third up for election thing), so they're going to be there no matter what. And unless they get 2/3 majority in both the senate and house, Obama will still have his veto pen until at least 2012. I'm not even sure you'll be able to get a simple majority at this point, maybe pick of a seat or two at best. Which is par for the course historically in mid-term elections.

This is actually just sad (lame), people cannot have any constructive debates or anything of that sort if a whole, and rather big group of people are banned, from a so called "political party" who are actually just people who like to complain and criticize others.

I want Rachel Maddow to run for President of the United States! With Joy Behar as her running-mate for Vice-President. That way, in the extremely doubtful event that Maddow can't knock the Bushies/Repugs/conservatives down with the facts and logic and reason, Behar can just reach out and rip their balls off and serve them back to 'em on a platter.

How about Maddow and Ed Schultz?

They are already trying to get Schultz to run for Congress. I like Behar, but Schultz is a better attack dog.

I have to admit ignorance when it comes to Ed Schultz. I just did a quick read on Wikipedia about him, but we don't get his program so far as I know here in Texas and if we do, I just haven't seen it.

I read that he has a daily show on MSNBC, and I have MSNBC, but I can't remember ever seeing his show. Hmmmm. Could it be regional? As far as the talk radio, I rarely tune in to talk radio.

Shultz's radio show is carried on the CNN radio channel here in Chicago opposite Limbaugh. It's a weird station because it goes off the air about 6:00 PM on AM after Ron Reagan and goes to some FM station.

His show on MSNBC comes on before Hardball. He give everybody hell that does not support Liberal agendas, but he's not a raving lunatic. He takes calls with opposing views and does not cut them off.

You can probably go on MSNBC website to get a download of his show.

He even devotes a couple of hours on Friday for small business owners to call in and give their business a plug on air from all over the country. A real nice American thing to do that you will never hear on Limbaugh's show.

I never thought much of the guy until I started catching some of his show at lunch. Now I'm a fan.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the heads up. You know I watch Hardball, and Olbermann, and Rachel, but I wonder why I haven't seen Ed Schultz. I'll have to check this out on our MSNBC here and see if they put him on. I'd like to see his show.

Ed comes on at 6:00 p.m. EST here in Florida on MSNBC - He's one of the strongest advocates for the middle class, working America. He's very passionate and is worth a look-see. Hope you have a chance to catch his show - He's a trip.

Yep his show now has a nic, it's called " The Dead Show" and his ratings are in free fall. It's only a matter of time till it will be mercifully cancelled. Schultz is sooooo bad that Brent Baier (sp) who is his Fox competition is gaining viewership and killing him in the ratings.
